From the desk of the curator & builder
Dear reader, writer, and seeker of ideas,
For generations, when we wanted deep, foundational knowledge, we picked up a book. We still love books.
But books take time. By the time an idea makes its way from manuscript to finished pages, the world around it may have already moved on.
Technology changes. Industries evolve. New ideas emerge. The people closest to those changes are often writing about them as they happen.
The Living Frontier
Newsletters are where living history is written in real time. They are dispatch notes straight from practitioners on the ground.
There are hundreds of remarkable newsletters being written by engineers, founders, researchers, and independent thinkers. People sharing hard-fought lessons from production. Founders reflecting on real mistakes. Researchers breaking down paradigm shifts. Curators spending forty hours so you can learn in ten minutes.
Newsletters are becoming a living record of modern thought.
But there is a problem: finding the exceptional ones is still difficult.
Search engines are crowded with SEO-driven content. Social feeds reward what is immediate, viral, and easy to consume. Meanwhile, independent writers producing genuinely valuable work can be surprisingly difficult to discover.
So I built LetterKing with a simple purpose:
to help everyone discover the best newsletters.
LetterKing is an experiment in making newsletter discovery more transparent.
Instead of hiding everything behind an opaque algorithm, the board is built around three distinct rounds — each adding a different signal.
Pay to Rank Higher
The first round is intentionally simple.
Instead of fake upvotes, click farms, or a black-box ranking system, creators openly bid for their position on the live board.
The idea is not that money makes a newsletter better. It is that creators are willing to put something behind their belief that their work deserves to be discovered.
Bidding runs 24/7 across an active 30-day period.
3-Minute Creator Video Interviews
Ranking is only the opening chapter.
In the second round, we give the person behind the newsletter a voice.
Creators are invited to share why they write, what they are trying to understand, and what they hope readers take away from their work — all in a concise 3-minute video.
Because sometimes the best way to understand someone's writing is to meet the person behind it.
Community Upvotes & Comments
Eventually, the readers get their say.
Readers can upvote and comment on the newsletters they actually enjoy. They can share recommendations, explain what they found valuable, and help others discover something worth reading.
The leaderboard tells one story.
The community tells another.
My goal is simple.
Whenever you want to learn something genuine, current, or interesting, you shouldn't have to spend hours searching through noise.
You should be able to come here, discover a writer who cares deeply about their subject, and find something worth giving your attention to.
That's LetterKing.
A place for good writing to be discovered.
Thank you for caring about good writing, independent thought, and the people brave enough to put their ideas into the world.
Warmly,
Prithvi
